Lexicon's MC-8 Music & Cinema Processor Dazzles Film Enthusiasts At The Rhode Island International Film Festival (October 16, 2009)

DMN Newswire--2009-10-16-- In a follow up to the 2009 Cannes Film Festival in France, Harman International has turned its attention to the Rhode Island International Film Festival (RIIFF) held at Columbus Theatre in Providence, R.I., supplying brilliant audio to a full viewing audience complete with the Lexicon MC-8 Music & Cinema Processor. The installer, PMA Industries, supplied the theatre with a whole new installation designed as a 5.1 surround sound system that would enhance each and every film screening shown at the festival.

The MC-8 Music & Cinema Processor provides fantastic sound quality and is perfectly suited for less-complex multi-channel systems where sound quality, picture quality, ease of use and reliability are still paramount, making it the perfect selection for the RIIFF. It has a selection of analog and digital outputs and processing capabilities that allow filmmakers from all over the world to showcase their productions without worrying whether or not their format would be compatible with the Festivalâ??s equipment.

"We chose the MC-8 for lots of different reasons, but above all else, for its versatility," said Barry Martin, Sales Manager, PMA Industries. "It is so easy to use but still maintains the highest quality performance, so we knew that we could use it for every production we showcase."

The MC-8 features LOGIC 7 decoding, which provides a seamless and immersive surround experience, even with two-channel source material. The LOGIC 7 decoding creates a surround field that comes surprisingly close to discrete multi-channel recordings, and produces two highly-effective rear channels whether using 2-channel or 5.1-channel source material.

"There were a great deal of different components for this project," continued Martin. "Normally, it would be very difficult to coordinate everything to work properly; but because of the functionality that comes with the Lexicon MC-8, we were able to just plug everything in and not worry about a thing."
