Media Distributorsâ?? Line 1 Media division will market the Fusion Drive and other RED Rocket solutions, today at an event at Media Distributors East, from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm, at 645 West 27th Street, between 11th and 12th Avenues.

Fusion Drive is a new addition to Media Distributorsâ?? Archive Stationâ?¢ storage solution, which was introduced at NAB 2009.  Fusion Drive is a fully-integrated single road case system for both on-set and in-house use that incorporates Media Distributorsâ?? Constellation VCMâ?¢ asset management system, and enables automatic archive of content.  The fully configurable system can be customized to a wide range of workflow requirements.

The Fusion Drive is optimized for RED camera workflows, and its one button power-up solution provides production companies with secure back-up and rapid access to archived video content.  The system includes four 1 Terabyte (TB) hard drives; enables backup to either Blu-ray Disc or LTO-4 media and provides for cloning on additional portable hard drives, for safe geographic separation of content.  Options include dual quad-core Apple Mac Pro with Final Cut Studio 7 and AJA Kona 3 video capture card and dual LTO-4 simultaneous backup.

 

The Fusion Drive supports both Windows and Mac OS environments; captures all metadata included with video files, and maintains linking of project files from online to archive medium.  The system offers full asset management support for all archived content.

 

The Fusion Drive is available for purchase, lease or rent (the Fusion Drive R-Series I rents daily for $500; weekly for $1,250.  The Fusion Drive R-Series II rents daily for $900; weekly for $2500.
